Being a parent requires gifts and abilities that you didn't even know you had. Most of them we learn along the way. One of those necessary abilities is to be able to organise a birthday party that your kids will remember as a fantastic event. Pirate parties need not be complicated, however it does require some advanced thought and planning. Take the time to prepare, enjoy the process and your party will be fabutastic! So, how do you do that? Well, here are some planning ideas to get you started.
Pirate Party Ideas: Aye! Aye! Cap-e-tain.Why settle for ordinary birthday parties, when you can make an extra-ordinary party for you child. By planning ahead and considering what you might do for the next party you organise, will make all the difference. Pirate Parties are one way to involved kids IN the party, rather than just ATTEND the party. Themed parties, such as Pirate parties allow you to transform your party into a fun filled event, and your kids will enjoy it so much, they will be asking when the next party is.
Here are some Pirate Party Ideas.
1.Invitations. The paper you are going to be printing the invitation on can be soaked in coffee or stained with tea. This will give it an aged look. Print your invitations on the paper and then slightly burn the edges of the invitations, which will add to the effect. The invitations can then be carefully rolled up and tied with a leather string. You can either send it like this, or place the invitation in a empty bottle for an added seaside look. Another alternative for the delivery of the invitation is to make a treasure chest and put the invitation inside. Either way, this would give your guests the idea that they are attending, more than "just a party", but a pirate themed party.
2. Games including treasure hunts, walk the blank games, blind man's buff. Use pirate terms for the names of the games you play. Every pirate party needs a treasure chest and a treasure hunt. Place a treasure chest somewhere secluded and let the kids hunt for treasure while donning their pirate costumes and holding their safely made pirate swords. Make sure they have a treasure map to find the treasure chest with the treasure inside.
3.Decorations for your pirate party could include some flags. Don't be afraid to transform your backyard into a pirate ship. Make the entrance look like the entrance to the ship, or alternatively, a cave. Your guests will love arriving at the "pirate ship" that is full of pirates and pirate fun. Make treasure map placemats or draw a treasure map on the tablecloth for the tables and decorate them with chocolate gold coins that look like pirate money. Put miniature parrots and seagulls on shelves and hang from the ceiling. If you have a swimming pool, you could set up a plank on the pool. This would encourage the kids to swim and feel like pirates. If you don't have a pool, you could still improvise by putting a plank on a corner in your backyard.
4. Rewards. Have rewards for the kids that have something to do with pirates, and some pinata's that they can take home with them.
5. Food. Think about ways that you can use "pirate things" and make them into fun food for the occasion. You could make skull and crossbone shaped cookies or cakes. Fruit can be sliced, and to make it look like a sailboat, just add a toothpick with a sail attached to the top. Pizza's also look like pirate food. Pirates probably ate a lot of fish, although maybe not chips. You could also post a "flag" on different plates of food explaining what it was, of course using pirate language.
6. The Birthday Cake. A fun alternative to the traditional, round birthday cake, would be to make it in the shape of a treasure chest. You could have the lid closed, or open and fill the inside with "jewels".
7. How to Speak like a Pirate. Pirate language is important, especially on the invitation. Words like "fer" instead of "for", "ye or yer" instead of "you or your" Cut off the g's on the end of words, eg "drinking" becomes "drinkin". When you're looking for the next word, just add an extra "Arrr"!
